Watch Dublin based psychedelic rock band The Revellions get in the Christmas mood for the readers of Hot Press! The band has been around since 2006 but they are about to release their best album ever. Their sound is an interesting blend of garage rock and psychedelic and they have great energy on stage. Check out their ‘savage’ (just to put it in Dublin terms!) performance of ‘Watch Them Fall’ from their upcoming Album ‘Written All Over You’. Follow the guys on Facebook for more updates.
Enjoy our last episode of 2017… watch till the very end!
Our 6th episode features indie-blues duo Basciville.
Meet two brothers from Wexford who will capture your ears. Their sound is an elegant combination of pop, folk, blues and jazz. And because they are from sunny wexford… we brought them a little gift! Watch them perform their single ‘Diving Hour’. Don’t forget to follow them on Facebook! Their next gig will be in Waterford on December 30th. Highly recommended!
Our 5th episode is now out and it features rock duo The Stasi!
The Dublin based duo plays dirty, wordy rock and roll. Think big guitars, whiskey stained vocals and smart songs that linger in the mind like last night’s indiscretions. Here with a stripped down version of ‘Struggle Up‘ from their forthcoming album ‘Love in the Age of Narcissism‘, The Stasi promise to hit 2018 with the kind of strut you only get from a brand new pair of silver cuban heels. Remember to follow them on Facebook for more news and upcoming gigs!
Meet Fin! Dublin based “troubadour” and intriguing songwriter. A real character and true rock n’ roller. Do not miss him playing around town, his zebra outfit will lead you to some incredibly good live music! Watch them perform an acoustic version of “Dead Still Ride” and… watch till the very end to meet the real star of the show!
Do not miss the opportunity to catch Aindrias de Staic and The Latchikos this coming Sunday in Whelan’s!
It is bound to be a great night of story telling and music. Aindrias will be performing his recent comedy story telling show entitled “Seven Shades of Shtax“, followed by his band performing some brilliant gyp-hop, a combination of gypsy music and hip hop.
Seven Shades of Shtax is about a man seeking life’s answers. Armed with a fiddle, a loop peddle and some epic stories, he tries to address his fundamental character defects. Its premier sold out at the Dublin Fringe Festival and The Vodafone Comedy Carnival. You are in for a real treat!
Meet emerging rock band State Lights on our second episode! With Shobsy as their lead singer, the band has an incredible sound. A blend of 80’s dreamy atmosphere, a velvety voice, post punk and evocative guitars. Their sound reminds us of early U2, Tears for Fears and dare I say Roy Orbison. Check them out! A new single will be released in the new year. Follow them on facebook for more info! And because Depeche Mode is playing in Dublin tonight… dream on, dream on.
This is what happens when you wander around town on a Friday night and you stumble upon a legendary pair of musicians performing a great cover of U2‘s Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses. Check out Shobsy & Ger Kiely’s dreamy performance!
Meet Session Motts, one of the most intriguing bands on the Irish scene at the moment. Evocative, dream pop of the 80s mixed with post punk and enigmatic vocals . Well… and much more than that! ✌️🎶 Check them out!
