Independent UK Drummer, Carlos Hercules, speaks to Hot Press at The Music Show 2010 in the RDS. He gives us an insight into his masterclass at the event and what it takes to be a success in the music industry.
Carlos Hercules is one of the top UK session drummers working in today’s music business, having occupied drumstools all over the world for over two decades. Having initially been inspired by his heroes Dennis Chambers and Steve Gadd, in his star-studded career he has been increasingly busy, not least as drummer-in-demand for many of the world’s top female acts, including tour stints with Beverly Knight and Belinda Carlisle. In between times he has featured on numerous television and live shows with such luminaries as Take That (for their reunion tour), Bryan Adams, Cher, Alicia Keys, Heather Small, Emma Bunton, Sam Brown, Mel B, Lulu and Jimmy Cliff. His other credits include Kelly Clarkson, George Michael, Eurythmics, Westlife, Marti Pellow and the classically-inspired group Bond. He has also played countless prestigious global events, such as the American Music Awards, and charity events for breast cancer and AIDS awareness. Carlos was also the first drummer to play at the new Wembley Stadium.
