Gareth Mannix
A native of Kerry, producer/engineer Mannix worked on the debut single by the Thrills as well as albums by Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club, Damien Dempsey, Jack L and Juliet Turner. His live recording credits include The Divine Comedy, Whipping Boy, Beta Band and Elbow. Arguably his biggest contribution to date is in bringing new artists’ recording to international standards of quality. As a qualified recording engineer, Mannix further developed his studio craft working with masters such as John Leckie (Radiohead) and Richard Rainey (U2). No fewer than five of the band he worked with in 2006 – The Blizzards, Director, Republic of Loose, Humanzi and Delorentos – were nominated for the 2007 Meteor Awards, and the reaction to Republic of Loose’s superb 2008 album, Vol IV: Johnny Pyro and the Dance of Evil has put him high on the shopping list for bands in search of an excellent producer. He produced Delorentos’ eagerly awaited second LP.
