Rick O’Shea
O’Shea is a highly popular DJ who has been nominated for two PPI National Radio Awards and for Best Irish DJ at the Meteors three times. It all started in 1991, the year before O’She started at UCD, when he worked for the St James’ Hospital radio station. After this, he was programme director of UCD FM and a presenter for Ballyfermot College of Further Education’s radio station before landing a job at East Coast FM. From there he moved to South East Radio, Atlantic 252 and FM104. It wasn’t long before the national broadcasters came a-courting and, in 2001, O’Shea was snapped up by 2fm. For his first few years he had a popular night-time show, later taking on breakfast show duties with Ruth Scott. He currently heads up the high profile afternoon show on 2fm as well as running a popular blog.
