Andrew Ferris
Andrew Ferris began his career in the music industry as a performing artist, signed to the legendary Geffen/Universal Group. Thereafter, he became a full time songwriter and record producer: touring the world club and festival circuit as lead singer of critically acclaimed, alternative rock group Jetplane Landing (2001-present). In 2007 he established Smalltown America, an independent record label and artist management group in order to “cultivate a self-sustainable business model through which artists can release the best records they can possibly produce.” Smalltown America will release its sixtieth title in 2009 and has released music by over 150 artists. The company is at the forefront of music rights negotiation, brand synchronisation and digital marketing. Recently, the company has brokered deals for Northern Irish artists Fighting With Wire (Atlantic Records/Warner Chappell Music) for a five album record agreement; and And So I Watch You From Afar (Sony/ATV Group) to represent catalogue publishing rights. Andrew relocated the company from London to Derry, Northern Ireland in 2008 and lectures nationally on web-based marketing techniques, campaign management and industry best practise.
