James Morris
James Morris’ views on the media, and the visual and audio industries and the relationships between all three are always acutely penetrating and show the benefits of his enormous experience. He made his international reputation as the boss of the original Windmill Lane Studios, making it one of the most popular recording locations in the world. James is a History and Political Science graduate of Trinity College Dublin. He trained as a film editor in London and returned to Dublin to set up as a film editor and founded Windmill Lane Pictures and Recording Studios in the early eighties. He led the Windmill Consortium that won the franchise to set up Ireland’s first Independent National Television service, and was appointed Chairman of TV3 when the station was launched. He held this position until the channel was sold to private investors. In 1990 James founded The Mill in London, a film and television post production company. He is on the Board of the Dublin International Film festival and in 2008 he was appointed to the Board of IMRO, the Irish Music Rights Organisation.
