There is relatively little music programming on Irish television, with only The Last Broadcast and UK shows such as Later With Jools Holland being screened with any regularity. However, when music shows are commissioned, they are frequently pulled from the schedules for failing to attract sufficiently high viewing figures.
Is there a way to break this trend? And what is the future of rock n roll on Irish television? To address these questions, we assembled a team of experts from across the music programming spectrum; the BBC’s Mike Edgar, RTE presenter Dave Fanning, Paul Madden of video makers Del 9 and U2 video producer Ned O’Hanlon. Their views on the various aspects of music television are sure to made for a hugely engaging discussion at The Music Show 2008.
