International Producer Duo Future Cut confirmed for The Music Show
International production maestros Future Cut were added to the line-up of guest speakers at The Music Show 2008, which took place at the RDS on October 4 and 5.
Among numerous other major hits, Future Cut collaborated extensively with Lily Allen, co-writing, producing and mixing half of her debut album, including the number one smash hit ‘Smile’.
Future Cut are Darren Lewis and Tunde Babalola. They met ten years ago in Manchester, where they both DJ-ed on the drum ‘n’ bass scene. Rival promoters, their mutual love of music bought them together in a creative partnership, in which they established themselves as musical pioneers on the club scene.
Since then, the dynamic production duo have worked with artists such as Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls), Natasha Bedingfield, Dizzee Rascal, The Sugababes, Kate Nash, Estelle, Plan B, Lemar, Kelis, Goldie, Roni Size and many more. They have just completed work as the main producers on the new Tom Jones album 24 Hours.
Their presence at the RDS provided an extra magnet for Irish bands eager to hear what the world’s top producers have to say, about making great hit records.
“We’re really privileged to have two such important young producers taking part in the show,” says Mark Hogan, co-ordinator of The Music Show. “Future Cut are among the hottest producers in the world right now, so they bring something really special to the event.
“We have a few more surprises up our sleeves – this is going to be one of the most important music events ever held in Ireland. It’s crucial for anyone with any kind of musical ambition to be there.”
