    Took ourselves off to see The Iron Lady last night (and not 'cos we thought it was an Iron Man sequel). Meryl played a blinder. But why devote half the film to Alzheimer's hallucinations while skimming over Thatcher's rise to power, the hunger strikes, the battles with the trade unions & the miners, the Big Money machinations? The years '84 to '89 were dispacthed in a 60-second collage. It's not often we say this, but the film could've been a good hour longer, and significantly more complex, a la Ollie's Nixon...     Well friends, it's been a fast few months in the Revelatorium. Apologies for sporadic blogging, but the latter half of 2011 was heavy harvesting and sowing season, and a man cannot serve too many masters. Progress report in a nutshell: the Rev Murphy relocated to a 400-year-old house in the country in October (took a while to sort out tech specs, but we're all better now). The second novel is completed pending editorial notes. It's called Shall We Gather at the River and is due for publication by Faber & Faber in February 2013. Also in the works: the first ...
