Fear The Foliage

Established in 2000, Garageland’s constant live music format involves venues all over the country, its gig-tally currently topping over 1000. May 21st, 2008 by nay

I’d love to Google a voodoo iconograph of Papa Legba splashing bloody paint across a canvas for this post…Stagger Lee are looking for an intrepid artist to further their latest creative endeavour, sending out a call to arms. Despite a whirlwind inception in 2007 that led to supports with Sleater Kinney, The Kills and The Duke Spirit, exciting, positive changes are on the way from the ‘Lee and they’d like y’all to be involved….If you’re a snapper, snazzy painter or have a knack for the linear, get in touch via email or MySpace.

Nominations for Balcony TV 2008 awards are in with nods to Luan Parle, Mumblin’ Deaf Ro and Redkid.
The daily web-cast show screens short, new music videos from Irish artists and poets, filmed on a balcony above Dame Street in central Dublin. A sister project on a tiny verandah in Hamburg’s Reeperbahn was launched in late 2007 and is a regular feature on youtube.de main page.
Brought to you by three friends and flatmates, Balcony TV, a ’boutique Irish music phenomenon’ according to Hot Press, was crowned Best Music Website in the Digital Media Awards 2007 and recently nominated for a prestigious Webby.
Fans and bands alike appreciate the unwavering support for burgeoning Irish music and its cheerful site, simple in design and packed with a wealth of accessible content in blogs and YouTube. You’re not a band til you’ve been on the Balcony :p
