Poppies and Thanks

Hey guys I’m taking a few days off til Monday next week. I have a big pile of ironing and an even bigger pile of books. There will be burning.

Thanks again to all the people who voted in theĀ Irish Blog Awards this year! Three category nominations from the people is a warm fuzzy feel :)
Congratulations are due to the five big boyos who progressed onwards to the Best Music Blog finals. Good luck to them, that’s flavour country….It would have been nice to see The Indie Hour receive a posthumous award. Alas, alack…that said, I love reading Asleep On The Compost Heap, Nialler9 and On The Record but this year let’s see mp3hugger FTW!

There are still a few posts lurking but if you’d like to mention something, sow your seeds in the comment field. I’ll copy and paste your news etc into this main feature.

Later raters!

Sorry to see you weren’t shortlisted for the Irish Blog Awards - assume you will have to bring down the banner ad now?

  3. Jeeez! MM is quite persistent ?!

Thanks Anna…MM is masquerading as an ambassador of Irish justice.

I totally agree that mp3hugger deserves to win for setting up the indiecater label alone let alone the brilliant work kevin does on the main mp3hugger site.

Peter - MP3Hugger is really such a gem of a site, a real staple of Irish music blogs and in terms of personality and consistence MP3Hugger’s been so consistent and undilute. The only criteria for review is the music’s quality. I actually try to keep Indiecater removed from its parent site but its creation was a highlight of 2008. There are several across the board excelling in their own way. I learned a lot about blogging reading Nialler9’s blog. He won it last year though, things have gotta be kept fresh!

Flynn…I got nommed, just not finalised. And you know, my family and friends are really happy to say of literally thousands of blogs, I was chosen along with several others. First by people, then by critics. That is feckin awesome. :)

Anna -the Days of Nay sounds like a bad Georgette Heyer. If I was a book I’d like to be a Georgette Heyer :D
