HNY!!

Happy new multitudes to all be it calendars, resolutions, jobs or CC (crippling Christmas/credit card) debt…were the hand-tooled Italian leather iPod jackets worth it?

Hope you all saw fit to celebrate in your own inimitable style, on yacht, castle, armchair or dancefloor last night! I went to Super Extra New Years Party in Wheland and got some new shots of the Adebisi Minirockers before I had to leave. Extensive apologies to the Bonios, I would have loved to stay.
2008 was a deadly year. I can hardly believe my good fortune in meeting so many sound, funny, warm people all over the country, from the thoughtful coffee vendors of Belfast in January, the absodeadlutely crowd in Galway, Limerick headers, mad chatty Cork strangers and the legions of charmers in this home city.

Ireland’s a tough climate, not enough people go to gigs and buy music so every band working the rounds deserves their applause. For me, it’s the easiest job in the world to be a part of. Cannot wait for 2009’s hard work and new sounds. Here’s a “cheers!” to all the bands, all the bloggers and of course, all the deadly readers!

And it is for this candour you truly deserve your middle initial, sir!

Seems we were the two lucky people in Ireland to go out….

    :)

tis true. i wasn’t really drinking on NYE, so it was nice to get a gig in without falling over myself (again)

one should also check out Tenaka’s new EP, “Eponymous Titled”, for some good listenershipness - tis rather interesting electronica that avoids an awful lot of the trappings that many laptop based artists fall into

Heh.. I wasn’t really drinking in Whelans. Made up for it later, cue stair-bound broom-stroking. I’ll let you imagine what that was all about.

Tenaka Drifting releases EPonymously Titled this Saturday 10 Jan. Yesyesyes I know and it’s sounding very interesting indeed. Keep eyes peeled hereabouts :)

  7. broom stroking???
