Blog : GoodOnPaper.org

When I posted a long list of links and went off for a week, I wasn’t dossing, y’know. I was researching the potential avenues of information for Irish bands on the Internet. I found SFA.
What I needed to find was more of this: sage advice.

Andy over at goodonpaper.org is a promoter and photographer from Belfast running the monthly TwoStep night at The Limelight in Belfast - looking amazo with Not Squares this month and ASIWYFAAAAAAAA in December - and he blogs regularly on his adventures in the Northern Ireland music scene. Between photos and musings on day-to-day life are in-depth posts covering band and industry topics. It’s interesting to hear his views on the developments up North as brilliant artists like The Jane Bradfords, Cashier No.9 and We Are Knives go from strength to strength.

Just an aside: And So I Watch You From Afar co-host Across The Line with Rigsby on BBC Radio Ulster tonight at 7:30.

  1. well there was CPU until that was sunk by an ill-advised site redesign and Thumped.com (kind of a resource), but other than that I can’t think of any…

  2. cormac says:

i hear cpu is coming back - ok, ive been hearing that for a while but recently i was told by a man that would know, and he says it bee’s on the way back does cpu.ie

  3. nay says:

Thumped is deadly but very scattered across a broad range of stuff and you might log on to catch up on gigs/news and find yourself in a flame war over polo mints or some shit. Fastfude.org is a good NI comparision, while we’re on the subject.

And CPU can’t hurry back soon enough!

However I really appreciate the personal angle of Andy’s blogs. He’s not writing them for work but for passion. If you take the lack od like-minded, dare I say it!??!, there’s a lack of passion for Irish music.
