Recession, recession, recession is a word that should be on lips across the land. Take it seriously people: in a few months’ time you might wish you’d drawn the purse strings tighter.
One group already feeling the strain of the frozen economy are buskers like James O’Toole and his friends in Dublin alt-rock band Aortal. These guys literally eat, sleep, breathe music and have noticed the chink of coins in guitar cases have started to fade.
To compensate they’ve hauled their arses into gear for a string of gigs, the 9 and 13 of this week in Dorans before moseying down to Ennis. Later Dublin shows can be found on MySpace.
