Never have done, tho I stood too close to the vent on one a few weeks ago and it scalded the ankle off me... Smoke machines smell as well. One time i was shooting in the hub and was leaning down in front of the stage. i don't like using the flash but really needed to for a shot so i switched it on. just as i start shooting i get engulfed in a puff of smoke from the machine. I looked like a little lightning cloud, much to the amusement of the row of people behind me. Oh, the spluttering. :) Elbow are great (though i haven't heard the new release yet). i HATE blue and red lights. grrr.

Totally jammers, as the vid shows...gotta love the moshing teens :) RoJo: Smoke machines are horrible creations. Everyone says they're great for holding light but I completely disagree...the dry ice just blurs everything. I'm still looking for a solution that doesn't involve copious Photoshopping. Was really impressed with the lights on the night but it was a bit irritating that there was one fabulous beam of white directed at Ste and the rest of the band were bathed in blue and red.
