Was it meant to become “Irelands ROCK Underground”? I’m puzzled… I’d say most of the nights, labels and acts mentioned in the original are not strictly rock at all…
I’d just say it because to me, “Rock” has connotations of the least underground, least fresh and least original music going around. It’s all happening elsewhere, Rock…
Nice one Nay. The least you deserve. Been writing excellent articles of late. Honest and very much in touch with the scene. Keep up the brilliant work!
Apologies Naomi ha ha! But first three clubs you mention have definite electronic leaning? We haven’t had Terrordactyl here yet, but there other halves Adebisi Shank have more than a slight lean towards electronics too with the crazy stuff Lar does on guitar… For me at the moment the most interesting stuff lies away from “Rock”, and of course that can totally just be me, but it has too many past connotations. I felt a bit odd, for example, describing ASIWYFA as a “kind of Rock band” to people who needed a kind of general reference point to what they do, cos I felt to call em Rock wasn’t enough…
And congrats Front cover of anything is an achievement. Your words are in full view on a thousand shop shelves across the country.
Accepted, Tony
You’re dead right about the electronica leaning, yes, and the piece was never meant to be a catalogue of rock but I’m guessing it was the most type-convenient word to use on the cover. Rock sells!
Someone asked me what ASIWYFA were like last night and all I could say was “a bucket of honey and tears”…genres suck!
Rusty but well-loved bucket maybe? Yuk, that’s a real shame and very, very strange. That aside - everyone mentioned in the article deserves every mention they get, hope it was a hella glossy and prominently placed article
my baby my baby… she is a flying… congrats… just home from that gig… god aufull… and there bringing out an album… fill u in after the weekend… like the word of G** she is in print…
Una, will you bring me back a monkey from KL? He’d be a great way of breaking the ice with bands!
Reckon it’s more up to me to write more interesting pieces…I’m a lazy writer at the mercy of lethalogica and end up staring at the screen for minutes on end…must get more practice!
Tim, as your blographer I recommend you pay your electricity bill instead! Then at least I won’t feel guilty for writing loadsa great stuff to keep you online all night :p

Stop pissing on my parade, Tony
I think Rock’s underground…Terrordactyl are as rocky and raw as you can get!
Cheers Dave, I’m on cloud 9! Glad you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have

Honest and very much in touch with the scene.
But Dave! Naomi said there wasn’t a scene in the piece! LOL!
Well done

So I’m not in touch with the scene, I’m in touch with the not-scene?!
Shucks, cheers

Congrats on the article. If only I hadn’t read it before I’d have an excuse to buy Hot Press! Maybe next time.

Hey cheers! It’s just about sunk in!
Andy: I’m flattered
Toni: argh, it’s no longer the year of naff-90s reunions! Hopefully they’ll fade fast!
Dayve: Keep reading the originals and you’re forgiven :p

Excellent piece and great that it made it to the front page:-)
Certainly no harm sharing it with the Oscar! Hmmm-might take up Jim’s odds;-)
