Tisch Spring 08 Finalists Announced!

Just in case you didn’t hear Friday’s announcement, a brand-new batch of bands and musicians will converge on the Sugar Club in a few weeks’ time with sparkling new vids courtesy of New York’s Tisch School of Arts‘ wunderkinds.

This latest run of entrants are of a more established calibre than previously. They arrrre:
The Coronas
Sinéad O’Connor
& Republic Of Loose
Future Kings Of Spain
Pamela Connolly
The Brilliant Things
The Mighty Stef
Halves
Not Men But Giants

and Choice winners Super Extra Bonus Party
Considering the quality at previous premieres quite a few goodies await. I absolutely love the Tisch nights, getting together with all the bands and directors for pics and first peeks at the vids are defo high points in the year…sure beat YouTube marathons which only leave you with a lap full of Doritos crumbs, anyway…for more info visit HP.com.

Here are some videos from Fall 2007’s premiere (omissisons are Autumn Owls’ Submission Serenade and Laura Izibor’s From My Heart To Yours):

Adela Meally - Party For Three

Evil Harrisons - A Pickle Like You

Fred - Damn You Hollywood!

Grand Pocket Orchestra - Odd Socks

House of Cosy Cushions - Up and Down The Hill

Le Bien - We Don’t Speak French

Neosupervital - Alternative Day

Noise Control - Steel

    sinead o connor? seriously?

  4. nay says:

Yeah… part of me reckons there are many other bands out there who deserve a vid, considering it’s for her collaboration with RoL, who already had a Tisch vid made a while back.
But on the flipside, some very, very lucky stude out there will be making their directorial debut with two massively popular acts. I don’t begrudge em that…

Neosupervital is a classic example of this bullshit ironic drivel thats polluting the “scene”. Only thing is he’s not being ironic!
