    Sound+Vision, Ballina Arts Centre's annual film festival is back for its seventh year with a programme featuring a number of classic concert movies and finishing with a live performance by Dublin-based The Group. The festival opens on Monday, July 30 with 'Lou Reed Berlin: Live at St. Ann's Warehouse' and culminates on Sunday, August 4 with The Group's live re-enactment of Martin Scorsese’s 'The Last Waltz'. Both the screenings and concert start at 8pm. Screenings cost €5 while concert tickets are €20 and €18 (concession rate).     What is Dylanfest you may ask? Well, to put it simply, it is Ireland's only festival which specialises purely in the music of Bob Dylan. Similar to Sound + Vision, the festival running from July 2-5 will make happy campers out of Dylan fans. Set in Lough Foyle, Moville, Co .Donegal, the scenic landscape will be the backdrop as you go pub-hopping to see musicians pay homage to the Poet Laureate of Rock and Roll.     Sound + Vision 2009: Dylan on Screen Sound + Vision Festival Ballina | (3)
    Ballina's annual film festival, Sound + Vision, will be taking a look at Bob Dylan and how he's been portrayed on the big screen. Running from June 29-July 3, the festival kicks off with I'm Not There, the 2007 film starring the late Heath Ledger, Cate Blanchett and Marcus Carl Franklin – all of whom play Dylan at different stages in his life. On June 30, the 1973 film Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid, with music composed by Dylan, will be shown.
