The Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival is a Celebration of Irish Traditional and American Bluegrass Music dedicated to the memory of celebrated Irish banjo player Johnny Keenan.Each year during the festival, Longford is transformed into a haven for musicians and music lovers.
There are jams, sessions, busking, and concerts. The streets, the Market Square stage, the pubs and concert venues are filled with music all weekend long.
There are also master class workshops available for musicians of all levels.
