Over 200,000 people descended on Tullamore last week for the biggest trad festival of them all, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2009.
The record for the biggest Irish music session was smashed for the third year in a row when 3,457 musicians, singers and dancers took to Tullamore's Market Square on Friday, August 21.
There were competitions in every area of traditional music, dancing and performance. Among the winners were Dartry Céilí Band from Co Sligo, who were named best Senior Céilí Band. Full results are up now on the Fleadh website. Comhghairdeas libh go léir!
