Met Éireann's hedging its bets as the biggest festival weekend of the year kicks off.
Today, it'll be cool and blustery, with sunny spells and scattered showers, including some heavy showers in some places, which will become more isolated later. Well that's helpful.
It'll become cloudier tonight, with lows of 9 to 12 degrees. As for Saturday - you've guessed, it - sunny spells and scattered showers. "Cool and rather cloudy over all but some sunshine breaking through in some places. Breezy at times."
Right so it'll be either cloudy or sunny and probably it'll be either dry or rainy. Meteorology is ...

The hour has come to start scheduling and making the agonising choices. Looking at Friday's timetable, will you chose MGMT (pictured) or Dinosaur Jr? And what about that Orbital/Rodrigo Y Gabriela clash?
Saturday also presents a few dilemmas. Lisa Hannigan and Bat for Lashes are both on at the same time, in a celebrity death match of the ethereal singer-songwriters. And if you're feeling old skool around 10.30pm, be warned that you can't see Chic and Madness. As for Sunday, if you're sticking things out to the end, it'll be a toss-up between Basement Jaxx and Flaming Lips when it comes ...
So you're broke and all your mates are off to E.P., while the most you can look forward to next weekend is the return of The Late Late Show and a cup of tea. Don't cry - there's a chance you could win a pair of tickets by answering a simple question over on HotPress.com. Hot Press is giving away a pair of tickets every day between now and next weekend. The prospective winners will be announced each day at 5pm on the news section of the website. If your name comes up, you have 30 minutes to get in ...

We're now tantalizingly, maddeningly close to the Electric Picnic festival 2009. The huge event is now in the process of setting up in Stradbally, Co.Laois for next weekend, lasting from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6. The lineup is only star-studded, and is also completely massive, with something in there for literally everyone in the audience. Tickets are still very much available, and can be nabbed off Ticketmaster.ie for €240 (that includes camping and the whole shabang). The Electric Picnic website is being constantly updated with acts that are being joyfully shoved onto the line-up, and there's quite a ...
We're really getting into the heart of the Irish festival season at the moment, with the schedule still looking completely packed! So here's a quick round up of what's going on and on the horizon.
Going on at the moment we have the Le Ceile festival in Oldcastle, Co.Meath which kicked off yesterday in Oldcastle, Co.Meath and Féile an Phobail (the West Belfast festival) which has been ongoing from July 21.
This weekend is the (always!) much anticipated August bank holiday weekend and as such has a multitude of festivals on go. These include Castlepalooza in Tullamore, Co.Offaly on ...
There's some very good news for Jon Snow fans!
Finding time to watch bands at Electric Picnic is going to be harder than ever with all manner of literary, theatrical, political and economic goings-on in the MindField arena.
Returning to Stradbally for a fourth year is the Leviathan Political Cabaret, which will be MC’ed by writer and broadcaster David McWilliams, and hopes to include a Government minister or three among its guests.
Popping his Picnic cherry, so to speak, will be Channel 4’s Jon Snow who’s hosting a special debate as well as the Mindfield All-Star News Quiz.
Taking time off from the Late ...
