The Clonakilty International Guitar festival, will be rocking the West-Cork village of Clonakilty, from September 16-19. It will be headlined by none other than Lee Ranaldo co-founder of the legendary rock outfit Sonic Youth, a band that has played a pivotal part in the rise of alternative rock in the states since they formed in 1981. Sonic Youth have inspired, and been friends with many of America's greatest grunge bands, having shared the stage with the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and the two- time Hall of Famer Neil Young.
