As if Stone Roses playing the Phoenix Park on July 5 wasn’t Madchester-tastic enough, The Button Factory is throwing an after-show party with the legendary Mike Pickering, he of M People fame, topping the DJ bill.
Invited in the ‘80s by New Order manager Rob Gretton to be booking manager at the Hacienda, Pickering was in the thick of things as the second summer of love exploded.
He set up his own Deconstruction label which scored massive hits with the likes of K Klass, Guru Josh, Black Box and Republica, and is currently Head of A&R at Colombia Records.
Kick off is 11pm, with tickets a tenner and local hero Billy Scurry supporting.
