Inspired by the humble Wexford strawberry, Strawberry Fest comes to The Showgrounds, Enniscorthy, with UK-born Irish-raised soul man Maverick Sabre, London rapper Mikill Pane and Dublin-based acoustic trio The Original Rudeboys heading the line-up. June 1 marks a very special homecoming gig for Mr. Sabre, who clearly hasn’t forgotten about his Wexford roots, having recently returned to New Ross to shoot the video for swoonworthy single ‘I Need’. Over 20,000 people are expected over the weekend to see Mav and company, so don’t stall too long in snapping up that ticket. Strawberry Fest 2012 gets its official launch on Saturday, March 24, so keep an eye on strawberryfest.ie to see how you can gain entry to the launch party, which promises performances from some of the acts on the bill.
