PLan B gets Novello nod Oxegen 2011 | Comments Off
While we’re obviously biased and want Villagers to win, we must congratulate Oxegen stars Plan B and Tinie Tempah for their respective Ivor Novello Award nods. The former is up for ‘Best Album’ and ‘Most Performed Song’ while the latter is gunning for ‘Best Contemporary Song’. Pete Doherty features in new documentary Oxegen 2011 | Comments Off
He may have been absent from last week’s London premiere, but Pete Doherty figures prominently in the new Libertines documentary, There Are No Innocent Bystanders, which chronicles their 2010 reunion tour. Talking about Doherty, filmmaker Roger Sargent says: “It's the first time you'll ever be able to see the truth really. Slash on demand Oxegen 2011 | Comments Off
Slash has joined with The Transplants in guesting on a track from Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker’s upcoming Give The Drummer Some solo album. Slash also appears in the accompanying video for ‘Saturday Night’, which is a deliciously lazy slice of Latino hip hop. As for the day-job, the guitarist has told an Argentinean website that Velvet Revolver have ruled out giving their vacant singer’s gig to Slipknot’s Corey Taylor. “We did work with Corey but all we were doing was trying him out,” he says. “He didn’t seem to fit to me.” Being a Potteries lad, Slash will be rooting for Stoke City next ...
