    It's only a recession-busting €89 for a weekend camping ticket for Cois Fharraige if you book before this Monday, September 1. If you book after that, it's €99. Among the bands on the bill are The Zutons, Doves, Stereo MCs and Newton Faulkner, not to mention homegrown talent like Jerry Fish (pictured) and his Mudbugs, Laura Izibor and - of course - the Saw Doctors. The festival takes place in Kilkee, Co Clare from September 11 to 13. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.

    Electric Picnic 2009's day by day breakdown has been released. The lineup for the mamooth festival has now been divided between Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. Friday will feature the likes of MGMT (pictured), Orbital and Seasick Steve, while Saturday includes Bat for Lashes, Jape and 2 Many DJ's.     There's just about a week to go to the start of the 6th Bulmers International Comedy Festival, which begins on September 6 and runs until September 27 across various Dublin venues. The annual music festival in Kilkee has confirmed that The Blizzards and Laura Izibor are the latest additions to the festival, which lasts over the 11, 12 and 13 of September.     As part of this weekend's Belsonic shenanigans, Duke Special is organising his very own one day festival at Custom House Square, Belfast. According to the man himself: "There's going to be spoken word, art workshops and a great line-up of music - Panama Kings from Belfast, David Forde from the UK, Jerry Fish & the Mudbug Club, Bell X1, The Magic Numbers and loads more."     Fleadh ‘09 a record-breaking success Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2009 | (0)
    Over 200,000 people descended on Tullamore last week for the biggest trad festival of them all, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2009. The record for the biggest Irish music session was smashed for the third year in a row when 3,457 musicians, singers and dancers took to Tullamore's Market Square on Friday, August 21. There were competitions in every area of traditional music, dancing and performance. Among the winners were Dartry Céilí Band from Co Sligo, who were named best Senior Céilí Band.     We're now tantalizingly, maddeningly close to the Electric Picnic festival 2009. The huge event is now in the process of setting up in Stradbally, Co.Laois for next weekend, lasting from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6. The lineup is only star-studded, and is also completely massive, with something in there for literally everyone in the audience.
