The Mighty Stef (pictured) will headline Summersound 2009 on 22 August. Also confirmed to play the new event are Dublin rock four-piece The Spikes, Swedish/Irish indy up-and-comers The Laundry Shop and Galway’s Disconnect 4.
It’s all happening in the lovely radioactive surrounds of Dublin Bay, at the East Point Bar (just off Alfie Byrne Street). Also lovely is the price - €26 for a full day of tunes, kicking off at 12 noon and finishing up late with DJs Nic James and Nacho Villanon. As well as the music, there’ll be art exhibitions and a BBQ.
Hot Press hears that the Summersound promoters are currently organising an after-show party, so free up Sunday 23 for your hangover.
Tickets are available from Road Records, Citydiscs, Spindizzy and on the interweb. The full line-up and transport info (basically you get any North Strand-bound bus to Annesley Road) are up on the festival’s Myspace.
