The bank holiday weekend is nearly upon us (ok, it’s only Tuesday but I’m an optimist). So if you’re heading to Mitchelstown to catch the Super Furry Animals (pictured), Ocean Colour Scene, The Blizzards and all the rest at Indiependence ‘09, it’s time to start thinking logistics. Here’s a map of the festival grounds and here’s the full line-up with stage times. 

For the uninitiated, Indiependence is the Republic’s next biggest pop/rock festival after Oxegen and Electric Picnic. Unlike the big two, it’s cheap as chips (and fittingly sponsored by Supermacs). A weekend’s camping on the local GAA pitch will set you back €59. Anyone with a weekend ticket from Ticketmaster can camp, even those with tickets that say ‘weekend non-camping’. There’s no red tape so if you have a day pass (€39) you can upgrade to camping for another €20.

The campsite will open at 6pm on Friday July 31st and close at 6pm on Monday August 3rd. It’s located 300 yards outside Mitchelstown on the Limerick Road, on your left hand side.
