The first batch of acts has been confirmed for this year’s Castle Palooza festival, which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in Charleville Castle, County Offaly.

You’ll be able to catch David Kitt, Project Jenny Project Jan, R.S.A.G., Channel One, Robotnik, The Lost Brothers, Dark Room Notes, Noise Control, 8 Ball, Glint, Le Galaxie and loads more still to be announced.

There’s also a strong arts programme with a live Rocky Horror Picture Show, a ceili and dance workshops. Most importantly, there will be hot showers and proper flushing loos.

Tickets priced €89 are available from www.castlepalooza.com and the usual outlets nationwide. With just 2,500 available, it’s a more intimate alternative to the Oxegens and Electric Picnics of this world.
