Did you know that the vagina is offensive? Even the word itself is so offensive it can’t be used it the context of a debate on abortion.
That’s according to Republicans in Michigan.
After using the word, Lisa Brown, a Democratic state representative, has been refused leave to speak as punishment for using the word. Brown, a mother of three, concluded her speech against an anti-abortion bill by saying: “Mr Speaker, I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina, but ‘no’ means ‘no’.”
Representative Mike Callton reckons: “What she said was offensive. It was so offensive I don’t even want to say it in front of women. I would not say that in mixed company.”
