A new study examining the representation of women’s vaginas in Playboy centrefolds has concluded that hairless genitalia resembling those of a prepubescent female is most common. No surprises there. However the authors have concluded that this could put girls at risk by sexualising childlike physical characteristics. Playboy often includes childhood photographs of its centrefold models which, warn the authors, intensifies the connection between children and sexuality.
