Many people, men generally, underestimate the power of a good kiss. It’s not that hard to get right. Here’s what you need to know.

• Tilt your head and close your eyes (Ok, sometimes I like to open mine and have a peek, and it’s really weird when you catch the other person doing the same thing).

• Kiss lightly with soft lips and a slightly open mouth.

• Move your body in toward your tonsil-hockey partner. If you’re getting a good response, press your chest, waist and hips close to him or her. Run your hands down his/her back, stroking hair etc.

• Start gently. It’s a kiss, not a rugby tackle.

• Use your tongue to gently explore the inside of your partner’s lips, mouth and tongue.

Do’s and Don’ts

• Don’t slobber – nothing is worse than kissing a wet slobbery mouth like a Great Dane’s.
• Don’t grab the other person’s head or hold them by the ears – that’s a major turn-off.
• Don’t squash your partner’s lips.
• Don’t push your teeth into the other person’s face. Painful.
• Don’t do the “washing machine” – moving your tongue around in great energetic circles.
• Don’t “deep throat” – you don’t have to prove you can lick your partner’s tonsils.

• Do pay attention to the bottom lip – I love having mine nibbled.
• Do consider the ears and neck. Nibble gently at first. Don’t stick a great big tongue in someone’s ear without gentle probing first. Some people love tongue in the ear; others find it gross. Proceed with caution.
• Do mix it up. Gentle, then more passionate, pull back, nibble the lips etc.
• Do use your breath. Soft breath on the neck is a major turn on for loads of people, me included.

• Worried about your breath? Lick the back of your hand, let the saliva dry and give it a sniff. If it smells off, so does your breath. Get a mint, damn it! Smelly breath is disgusting.
